No crowds, no queues, just ski until the lights go out!
With over 60 hectares of skiable area, Mount Olympus is ideal for beginner, intermediate and advanced skiers. Located in the Craigieburn range, 128 kms from Christchurch, Mt Olympus is a club field open to both members and the public. The terrain is diverse and offers challenges for skiers and snowboarders of all abilities. The southerly aspect means that Mt Olympus often enjoys more light powder than other nearby ski fields. There is an all weather road for cars to the Bottom Hut. Access is then by 4WD. On the field, rope tows are available. A feature of Mount Olympus is the variation in the slopes. Ski week packages are available. These include lift passes, daily ski lessons, use of all tows, accommodation and all meals. The slopes have excellent lighting installed so twilight skiing is often enjoyed. Catered lodge accommodation is available on the mountain. Find out more on the Mt Olympus website. For information about other ski fields in the area, visit the Ski Selwyn Six website or the Mt Hutt website. |
