Drives times around Lake Coleridge
Enjoy spectacular vistas of the Southern Alps, large braided rivers and numerous alpine lakes.
The road is sealed to Lake Coleridge Village, but all roads around Lake Coleridge are gravel, although generally kept in good condition.
Average drive times (one way) from Lake Coleridge Village to:
Power Station Intake with view of Lake Coleridge -

End of Algidus Road -

Harper and Wilberforce Diversions (Power Station canals) -

Facilities in the area are basic, so prepare well for your trip:
There are
no
shops or petrol stations in the area (this includes in Lake Coleridge Village and Harper Village).
Public toilets are available in Lake Coleridge Village; at the Power Station Intake; in a campground at the Harper Diversion/Harper Village.
Cellphone coverage is limited to non-existent in much of the area.
The only
cafes
are at Terrace Downs Resort or Mt Hutt Lodge at Rakaia Gorge.
Activities and accommodation generally need to be pre-booked.
