Like other mountain regions, crisp mornings and clear blue skies are common, with hot dry days during summer. Winter daytime temperatures are often around 10°C, and summer daytime temperatures typically range from 20° - 30°C.

Particularly in spring, warm nor-westerly winds can be strong. Mountains are snow capped throughout winter, and occasionally snow falls at lower levels, but is usually quickly cleared from main roads. In the depths of winter, after an extended period of frosts, smaller lakes can freeze attracting ice skaters.

Cellphone coverage

Cellphone reception is available, but around Lake Coleridge itself there are many areas with no reception because of the mountainous terrain.
