Middle Rock - High Country Farm TourFarming 7,000 sheep at Middle Rock in the Lake Coleridge high country, hosts Bruce & Lyn Nell and Charlotte and Vince Rietveld have over 25 year's experience of welcoming visitors to Middle Rock.
With its easy access for large tour coaches, the property is an ideal venue for international visitors, farming delegates and families wishing to experience life on a high country sheep station. Only one hour's drive west of Christchurch, tours take up to 3 hours and include viewing seasonal farming activities, large flocks of sheep, sheep dog mustering, sheep handling and lamb feeding (in season). Morning or afternoon teas served in the homestead kitchen are also included. A visit to Middle Rock offers the opportunity to be guests of a New Zealand farming family in a non-commercial environment amidst the stunning high country scenery of the Lake Coleridge area. Each tour is different as visitors experience 'life as it is today' at Middle Rock. Small groups can be catered for, but please give as much advance notice as you can.
