Middle Rock Farm Tour

Middle Rock Farm Tour - coach groups only

Experience New Zealand’s iconic pastoral heritage just one hour’s drive West of Christchurch.

Located in the stunning Lake Coleridge high country, Middle Rock offers the opportunity to visit an intergenerational working sheep farm.  Farming 7,000 sheep, our family — Bruce and Lyn, Charlotte and Vince — has been welcoming visitors for over 30 years.

What We Offer:
Authentic farm tours. Delve into the daily operations of a high country sheep property. Our tours include:
  • Sheep dog demonstrations with flocks ranging from 50 to 1,500 sheep.
  • Insights into sheep production and management practices.
  • Visits to sensitive land areas, highlighting our sustainable farming methods.
  • Discussions on balancing land resources, climate, animals, and people.
  • Time to enjoy big skies, panoramic mountain views and our braided river vistas.
  • A homestead experience: Step inside to homemade lunches or morning and afternoon teas. Step outside to our extensive perennial garden, cultivated by our family over many years

Visitor Information:
  • Tour Duration: Up to 3.5 hours
  • Location: One hour’s drive west of Christchurch
