Glamping

Rockwood

Rockwood has two glamping sites, both beautifully set up in areas close to streams creating a wonderful ambience of peace and tranquility.

The Carriage
​The Carriage boasts a double bedroom with an ensuite, kitchen with dishwasher and fridge, double bed with a single bunk above, sitting area with a Little Sparky wood burning stove and a bathroom and washhouse, gas heated water and oven.
There is a huge deck at the front with a covered outside dining area with the views to Mt Hutt.  More information...

The Summer House
The Summer House at Rockwood Station is just one hour and 15 minutes from Christchurch city and 25 minutes from both Darfield and Methven.
Designed by hosts, Cheryl and Ben, to be a peaceful retreat... an oasis of calm for busy lives... Somewhere to switch off, unplug and soak up the natural surrounds of their stunning high country farm.

Washpen

Now with three Glamping sites available at Washpen there is plenty to choose from, all stylishly decorated with thoughtful additions for a relaxing stay.

The Shepherds Hut
The Shepherd's Hut at Washpen Falls is based at Windwhistle, and set on the same high country Canterbury farm that also hosts the famous Washpen Falls Adventure Walk. Just one hour from Christchurch, this magical accommodation makes for an easy and nature-filled glamping escape.

Black Billy Hut
Black Billy Hut is a gorgeously rustic and charming building, beautifully crafted with native timbers and natural materials. Three rooms, each with french doors opening onto a verandah, contain a kitchen, living and bedroom space. A deluxe bathroom is undercover and set 2 metres away from the bedroom.​​

The Mai Mai
The Mai Mai gazes over calm waters and gentle rolling farmland. Wander across the bridge leading to your cosy hut. Inside, a comfortable living and sleeping area is warmed by a Roaring Meg fire, while the luxe bathroom showcases a double black corten steel shower that blends rustic touches with modern comfort.
